Hi there,
Mads has two movie this year in the competition: "The Hunt" and "A royal affair". I wish I could see the Hunt soon. It could be greater than "A royal affair", I suppose.

The Hunt / Jagten Denmark (111 min.)
Synopsis
A disturbing depiction of how a lie becomes the truth when gossip, doubt and malice are allowed to flourish and ignite a witch-hunt that soon threatens to destroy an innocent man’s life. Following a tough divorce, 40-year-old Lucas has a new girlfriend and a new job, and is in the process of re-establishing his relationship with his teenage son Marcus. But things go awry. Just a story − a random lie. And as the snow falls and the Christmas lights are lit, the lie spreads like a virus. The shock and mistrust get out of hand, and the small community suddenly finds itself in a collective state of hysteria, while Lucas fights a lonely fight for his life and dignity.
Director's Statement
On a dark winter night in 1999, there was a knock on my door. A renowned Danish child-psychologist stood outside in the snow with some documents, raving about children and their fantasies. He spoke about concepts such as “repressed memory”, and, even more disturbing, about his theory that “thought is a virus”. I didn’t let him in. Didn’t read the documents. Went to bed. Ten years later I needed a psychologist. I called him, and as a belated form of politeness, I read the documents. And was shocked. Spellbound. And I felt that this was a story that needed to be told. A story of a modern-day witch-hunt. THE HUNT is the result of this reading.

A Royal Affair / Kongelig Affære, En Denmark (132 min.)
Synopsis
A ROYAL AFFAIR is the true story of an ordinary man who wins the queen’s heart and starts a revolution. Centring on the intriguing love triangle between the ever more insane Christian VII, the man of enlightenment and idealism, Struensee, and the young but strong queen Caroline Mathilda, the drama is the gripping tale of brave idealists who risk everything in their pursuit of freedom for the people, but above all it is the story of a passionate and forbidden romance that changed an entire nation.
Director's Statement
A ROYAL AFFAIR is based on one of the most dramatic events in Danish and indeed European history; whenever I pitched the film to foreign investors, people had a hard time believing that the story was true, that these momentous events had actually happened in the late 1700s. In Denmark, however, it is taught in school, more than 15 books have been written about it (both factual and fictional) and there is even an opera and a ballet. I feel honoured and extremely lucky to finally bring the full story to the screen. Tonally, I was inspired by the great epics from the 40s and 50s where films would often feel like literary works, structured around characters and the passage of time, and not clearly following the obvious screenplay roadmaps. But my creative team and I were also fired up by the idea of bringing the Scandinavian historical drama into the new century. We wanted to achieve this by adhering to a self-imposed rule; we didn’t want to “show” history, didn’t want to dwell pointlessly on the big official events, the fancy dresses and hairdos, or the way the food was served. Rather, we wanted people to simply experience the story through the eyes of the characters, taking the 1760s for granted. Even though the period is obviously there in the set designs and costumes, it was filmed and edited as we would have filmed and edited a film taking place in modern Copenhagen. Finally, Gabriel Yared and Cyrille Aufort’s beautiful score has brought the film full circle, and home to its epic roots.

Mads presented the award for the best director. He was very funny, translated sentences from English into Danish and now we know, that "fucking" comes from Denmark.
But Thomas Vinterberg didn't won the award.

Mads didn't won. But he will marry very soon again. He's got a proposal of marriage and surely he said yes. It's very easy to get him as a husband. You only have to ask him.

Well not even the best movie award "The Hunt" got. Sadly. But I didn't watched "Amour", so I can't say, that this is a bad choice.
But there were a lot of new scenes of the Hunt in the short snippets of the movie. Mads is of cource incredible. Can't wait till March. Sometimes it is bad to live in Germany.
Sorry for writing with myself, but nobody was online with me. Hopefully I can download tomorrow the show in German television and cut the scenes with Mads for you and upload it. But it will be dubbed like last year!
Good night, ladies.

Finally I've made after a lot of problems. Here's the summary of the scenes of Mads at the EFA 2012. It's dubbed in German, but I can't change that. Sorry. The quality is worse than the video I've made, but no idea, what went wrong.
I miss a nice scene of Mads, when someone shot on him in The Hunt. There wasn't the whole show at German TV, for example there's no award for Thomas Vinterberg.
But the sweet proposal for Mads is there. I really love it and the reaction of Mads.
At the beginning there is Mads with his wife Hanne and son Carl. The boy is much taller - he has the hight of Hanne now! Crazy!

You're welcome. I'm glad someone sees it! It took me hours, because this software made me crazy and when I was ready and have the right moments for the cut, the program doesn't like the format anymore so I couldn't save it and have to download the video once again to start from point zero.
But you're right. Anke was really great. She made every year a great show. After I've saw two Oscar-shows, I have to say, that they need someone like Anke.

Jeez, I would have been hard pressed not to do something violent to my laptop!
Yeah! They need Anke at the Oscars! Great idea! The one Hugh Jackman hosted was good, but the one with James Franco and Anne Hatheway was just God-awful!

@annesrake
I've seen this year the EFA will be in Berlin again. Will you look out for Mads? I'm not sure, if he's there, because there is no film of him which is nominated … But he likes the EFA, I suppose, and so you can be lucky to see him once again this Saturday.
